About Our Church
Steele Creek Presbyterian Church seeks to become a Christ-led, Spirit-driven, generous, and open faith community.
Our church began on this site in 1760. In all our years, we have been a vibrant, caring people of God committed to sharing the “Good News” of Jesus the Christ in meaningful ways, while keeping the “old, old story” a refreshing experience. Though we are steeped in history, we know that His Story is what defines and shapes us as a church family. We are a community of redeemed sinners, thankful for God’s love and grace, striving to remain faithful to God’s Word, as we seek to serve Him through serving others
In keeping with our vision, our Mission is to:
- Open ourselves to God’s presence in our lives and in the world today;
- Build on our historical foundation into the future;
- Exercise responsible and faithful stewardship of our lives and of this world’s resources;
- Exemplify the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control;
- Model God’s hospitality;
- Utilize controversy and diversity as opportunities for enlightenment and growth;
- Encourage and participate in opportunities for life-long Christian formation;
- Live out our discipleship as a socially-engaged servant community;
- Influence our surrounding community through word and example;
- Serve as ambassadors for Christ.
